| As an artist I am largely self- taught but have benefitted from the personal tutorship of Hazel Soan with whom I have painted in Italy and my native South Africa. My formal training was as a medical practitioner but after studying drawing through the Open College of the Arts I decided to follow my heart and change career! |

My work is inspired by nature and the play of light and shade on objects which can challenge how I view something previously familiar. I am drawn to colour hence my love of the luminous quality of both glass and watercolour paint. Both of these mediums have a ‘life’ of their own and are exciting and fun to work with. |
| I have exhibited paintings in Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and South Africa and have paintings in private collections in the USA, Australia, South Africa and the United Kingdom. I am a member of the West Norfolk Artists Society and have been selected for showing at the Eastern Open Exhibition. |

I work from my studio in Norfolk but spend part of each year in South Africa, where I grew up, and find inspiration and huge contrast between both countries.
